Akbar V is speaking out and responding to criticism of her decision to pay homage to Nicki Minaj in an upcoming song.

More Details Regarding Akbar V’s Upcoming Tribute To Nick Minaj
Earlier this week, Akbar V took to social media to share the cover art for an upcoming single which appears to be titled “Letter To My Idol.” The artwork features rapper Nicki Minaj being crowned by a female silhouette.
Additionally, Akbar V shared a brief caption with the post.
“#AlettertomyIdol Friday august 18th”
Since then, Akbar has consistently promoted the upcoming single via Instagram. Most recently, the rapper reshared the artwork alongside a snippet of the song and a portion of the single’s lyrics.
“Dear Nicki i know this life can get tricky although these bchs want ya throne but they ain’t put what you put in/ you actually save me from that corner when i was putting that work in/i heard still i rise on bleedland had me soul searching cause all i ever wanted to do was rap yo know write all my verses / but it was hard for me to make it out when i was surrounded by corpses…”
Additionally, Akbar included a direct statement to Minaj in the caption.
“@nickiminaj as a fan i really am proud of you”
Minaj later replied to Akbar’s statement with a brief heart emoji.

Social Media Users Critize Akbar’s Tribute Song To Nicki Minaj
Throughout Akbar’s promotion of her upcoming single, many fans applauded her decision to show love to Minaj.
Instagram user @onlymissno wrote.
“I like to see when people actually give people that paved the way their props… like actually”
“I luv this so much …. N I luv how you haven’t switched up on her like most do”
“ I love queens bigging up queens …”
However, some strongly voiced their criticism.
“…This is not a good look for a grown woman. This may not impress Nicki that much when you try to hard migh come off creepy…”

The Rapper Responds To The Critics
On Tuesday morning, Akbar V took to Twitter to address the critics of her upcoming single. She explained that she did not release the song to prompt support from Minaj purposely. However, she did so to explain how the “Barbie World” rapper inspired her.
Akbar V added that she is not on the “Nicki hate train” and will always remain loyal to the veteran rapper without feeling like Nicki Minaj owes her anything.
